Since I was planning on building my own volume-applet rpms this weekend, maybe I'll try to find a way to do this (1 less package I'll have to maintain) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Anyway instead of patching the volume control applet why not starting the PulseAudio applet by default (which you can find a PulseAudio Device Chooser in the Computer menu)? This applet sits in the notification area, and provides access to all PulseAudio settings including the PulseAudio Volume control that the patched volume control launches when you double click it. The PulseAudio Device Chooser also has an option to automatically start itself on login (Preferences->Start applet on session login)! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

These people need a volume control too.. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Programmer) > Well, I think there are a good number of people who don't use PA and therefore > uninstall all PA related stuff. These people need a volume control too.. Exactly, this is what I was trying to say. Patching the volume control applet was a bad idea because of two reasons: 1. it makes the applet unusable for non PA users 2. it is unnecessary too, because PA has its own applet (PA Device Chooser) What I was suggesting is to remove the patch and start PA Device Chooser automatically if PA is installed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
