https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=214193 Summary: GRUB boots slowly while resuming from suspend2disk Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: lashkevi@landau.ac.ru QAContact: qa@suse.de After intalling last updates (in particular, patch-powersave-1854 and patch-kernel-2036), GRUB boots VERY slowly just while resuming after suspend2disk. It takes about a minute to load GRUB and install kernel and initrd, while after normal shutdown it take not more than one second. And there was no such problem before the update, nor with SUSE 9.3. Also mentioned in the Release Notes for a long time. Before the update, you were just lucky that your disk layout was a bit nicer so it resumed fast. Solution: make /boot reside on an ext2 filesystem. Sorry, this is a CANTFIX :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
