Well, I think that it is not serious after all. "unopkg" is called only when removing the old extensions from the system cache. The cache is not longer used by LO-3.6, so it should not affect the functionality. Just to be sure, do you see any problems in "Tools/Extension Manager"? Does it list some extensions? Is any of the extensions disabled without your intention? If you do not see any problem there, you are on the safe side. Anyway, could you please do the following test? 1. open a terminal (xterm, or so) 2. switch to root by the command "su" 3. run "unopkg list --shared" If it does not crash, could you please paste the output? If it crashes, does it help you to remove the old cache, directory /usr/lib64/libreoffice/share/prereg/bundled ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

do you see any problems in "Tools/Extension Manager"?
No. Nothing readily apparent.
Does it list some extensions?
Yes. There are 13 ...
Is any of the extensions disabled without your intention?
No. All seem to be enabled. All display a "lock" icon, if that matters.
Anyway, could you please do the following test?
1. open a terminal (xterm, or so) 2. switch to root by the command "su" 3. run "unopkg list --shared"
If it does not crash, could you please paste the output?
If it crashes, does it help you to remove the old cache, directory /usr/lib64/libreoffice/share/prereg/bundled ?

The bad thing is that the strace log did not help much. We would need to get backtrace. It is a bit tricky because the unopkg.bin binary is called via two wrappers, ... The easiest way would be to generate core file and analyze it. Could you please try the following steps? 1. open a terminal (xterm, or so) 2. switch to root by the command "su" 3. install the package libreoffice-debuginfo, otherwise the backtrace will not contain source lines and will be useless; Also install the package "gdb" that is needed to get the backtrace; You might do it by the command "zypper in gdb liboreffice-debuginfo" 4. enable core creation by the command: ulimit -c unlimited 5. run "unopkg list --shared" 6. open the core file in gdb by the command: gdb /usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/unopkg.bin core 2>&1 | tee gdb.log 7. produce the backtrace using the commands: backtrace thread apply all backtrace 8. quit gdb using the command "quit" 9. attach the gdb.log file -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I am having the same problem and even though the extensions seem to be running, to have my terminal filled with messy segfault error messages whenever I update libreoffice is not very comforting. I would have liked to run this through GDB too, but honestly the debuginfo for libreoffice is just too prohibitively large: --------------------------------- # zypper in -D libreoffice-debuginfo Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... The following NEW package is going to be installed: libreoffice-debuginfo 1 new package to install. Overall download size: 380.4 MiB. After the operation, additional 1.9 GiB will be used. --------------------------------- That's 2GB just to get a proper backtrace! Sorry, can't do. If unopkg isn't doing anything significant anymore in version 3.6 anyway, as you seem to imply, why not get rid of it altogether? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
