Upstream still considers version 2.9.3 as development version, so I am thinking about not obsoleting 2.8 yet. Last time I tried it, many existing applications failed to compile. I can try to create a testing repository with Factory applications compiled against wxWidgets-2.9. Incompatible with 2.9.3: audacity, boinc-client, erlang, filezilla, flamerobin, freqtweak, hugin, mkvtoolnix, pgadmin3, poedit, sffview, usbprog. Waiting to rebuild: amanda (Due to wxWidgets packaging bug above, dependencies did not match.) Note: python based software may break after update to python-wxWidgets-2_9. But adding people maintaining failed packages to Cc. If you was added to Cc of this bug, you probably maintains one or more packages that fail, when they are built against wxWidgets-2.9. However it is not yet in Factory, it would be nice to test, fix or inform upstream that their packages are not ready for wxWidgets-2.10. You was also added as a maintainer to X11:wxWidgets:2_9-testing project, so you can test your package there. This project rewrites BuildRequires to force build against wxWidgets-2.9 via "osc meta prjconf X11:wxWidgets:2_9-testing".
