In Gnome, go to the Control Center -> Appearance -> Theme and click on Customize to bring up the Customize Theme window. 2. Switch to Colors, and change the color of the Selected Items (Background) color. 3. The color change is reflected right away as expected, but the color of the window title bar does not get changed until you switch to the Window Border page and change the window border.
