Firefox in 11.0 is causing some serious problems. http://shaver.off.net/diary/2008/05/25/fsyncers-and-curveballs/ It often hangs my entire system for up to 30 seconds. After three days of running the troubled Firefox, my laptop HDD has started making some new, disturbing noises that it hasn't made before. I tried the LD_PRELOAD hack, but it doesn't seem to help much. Not sure why. There are also concerns about using certain sqlite versions. Mozilla strongly suggests to use the in-tree sqlite version since it's checked in their test suite pretty good. We for example are relying on the system installed sqlite. This is concerning me a bit. So coming to your actual issue. Firefox on 11.0rc3 is hanging your system for up to 30 seconds? Please try the 3.0rc2 packages you can find in mozilla:beta. awful bad idea..
We for example are relying on the system installed sqlite. This is concerning me a bit.

Note that I understand both sides pretty well and support using system libs where unproblematic. We as Linux distributions have simply not the QA to make sure that upstream not-supported configurations are not breaking anything.
