https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=443267 Summary: Line audio & microphone not working Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: ruchir.brahmbhatt@ecosmob.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User I have installed opensuse 11.0 on Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop. Sound card is sigmatel STAC9228. Audio works fine in built-in speakers but line audio and microphone have stopped working since some days. I don't remember exactly but mostly after upgrade to kde-4.1.3. I have alsa-driver-kmp-default-1.0.18.20081109_2.6.25.18_0.2-1.1 installed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

KDE4 update sounds irrelevant with the sound issue. Did it work without alsa-driver-kmp before? Also, run alsa-info.sh with --no-upload option, and attach the generated file. The script is found in either /usr/share/doc/packages/alsa or /usr/sbin. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It speaker used to work before but I installed alsa-driver-kmp to fix microphone issue https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=430475 but everything was fine but since couple of days its broken. It's set to 1, which is pretty low. There have been some nasty bugs in the recent ALSA version, and I'm not sure whether your last one still includes it.
