If I run "Network Devices" in yast, it asks to modprobe ndiswrapper. Whether I say yes or no, it hangs when it gets to probing the hardware (11%). Do you mean remove app ndiswrapper? I scrounged an old linksys usb dongle from an old laptop. It uses AR5513 driver and is "plug & play" but I'm not sure if it is using ndiswrapper to run. If I remove ndiswrapper completely, I can't get back online to restore it. I ran yast --> network devices and it asked to modprobe ndiswrapper. I said "no" and the usb dongle is still working.
