http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1124314 Bug ID: 1124314 Summary: Dell Precision 5530: NVME drive is not accessibe in UEFI mode Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: lubos.kocman@suse.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Depends on: 1124313 Found By: --- Blocker: --- +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1124313 +++ Hello, I do have a dell precision 5530 with two drives, nvme (512GB) and sata (2TB). Following issue happens on SLE-15 Beta3 (tested today on installer), SLE-15-GA and also on current Tumbleweed (tested today). For some reason Installation can't detect internal nvme drive(M.2 512GB NVMe PCIe Class 40 SSD ) in UEFI mode. nvme device shows up in legacy. Device is neither accessible in the system after installation. My particular laptop has a secondary SATA drive, which is basically the only installation target available. My lspci output from SLE-15 lkocman@linux-u79y:~> ls -la /dev/nvme* # devices seem not to be available at all ls: cannot access '/dev/nvme*': No such file or directory -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

How did you setup your nvme in BIOS? If it is configured for RAID mode, this probably is the problem.
