It starts reporting unexpected SCSI responses, duplicate object entries, and alike, and it fails to discover new SAN presentation. When running backups consecutively, without any concurrency, the procedure works fine and without failures for many hours. However, when running backups of different VGs concurrently, the failures above show up after some time on the backup host. It doesn't recover from these in following sessions. I.e. once the scan failures start, they remain, even if snapshots got unpresented in the meanwhile and replaced by new ones in later sessions. The reason we believe that this is the Linux kernel's fault, rather than the EVA's or Command View's: Running manual scans for presented but undetected snapshots fails, too. But after a reboot the backup host can see the snapshots it was unable to detect before. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.scanning HBAs for presented snapshots, which are continuously presented and unpresented (for example HP Using Data Protector Backup Software) and repeat that for many hours, with five parallel sessions Actual Results: the system starts reporting unexpected SCSI responses, duplicate object entries, and alike, and it fails to discover new SAN presentation.
