https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=762047 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=762047#c0 Summary: krandrtray problem with two monitors (intel GM45) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: wim.demeester@ster.kuleuven.be QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=490631) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=490631) The krandrtray settings User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.19 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/18.0.1025.168 Safari/535.19 I'm using a Dell Latitude E6400 with openSUSE 12.2 factory. This laptop has an Intel GM45 graphic card. I'm using this laptop at home using the native resolution (1440x900). At work, I use a second monitor (HDMI, 1680x1050). This monitor is turned to the left, but this has no influence on the problem. After starting up, I set the correct resolution for the two monitors in krandrtray. Everything still works fine then. When I go home in the evening, I use krandrtray to disable the external (HDMI) monitor and put the computer into suspend. At home, I can work without problems on the laptop. When I arrive back at work the next day, I set the resolution again with krandrtray to make sure the external monitor is enabled. Now, the external monitor has some problems... The lower part of the monitor is dark, and the mouse can not go to the lower part of the monitor. I think the resolution of the external monitor is limited to the first 900 pixels of the monitor (which is the native resolution of the laptop itself). A possible solution is to disable the external monitor and use xrandr to set the resolution of the external monitor. This does always work, so I don't know what kind of magic krandrtray does or tries to do... These are the xrandr commands which always work : xrandr --output LVDS1 --mode 1440x900 xrandr --output HDMI1 --mode 1680x1050 --rotate left --right-of LVDS1 I also had this problem using openSUSE 11.4 and openSUSE 12.1. I hope this can be solved, because this also makes the use of a beamer for a presentation impossible for our users...
