As far as I understand this, any bug report should be delayed until this bug is solved. Thanks Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Smolt does not work without hal daemon running Actual Results: Can't read hardware info without hal Expected Results: Should get a report like hwinfo can. Yes, upstream hal is in maintenance mode. OTOH, the hal package in 11.3 is working fine AFAIK (needed by KDE etc.) and smolt warns you if hal is not running.
As far as I understand this, any bug report should be delayed until this bug is solved.
