[Bug 230966] New: Firefox does not work with non-standard ports.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=230966 Summary: Firefox does not work with non-standard ports. Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: max@stranger-team.ru QAContact: qa@suse.de http://team.org.ru/suse/ff.png I use a plenty of devices and programs which use HTTP ports which are distinct from 80 in the my company. Such behaviour firefox is pure sabotage and is not admissible. I find a temporary solution - remove everywhere firefox and install opera. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=230966 ------- Comment #1 from rocallahan@novell.com 2006-12-28 22:31 MST ------- Firefox blacklists some ports for HTTP, to prevent attacks against network services. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

So mozilla.org would be the right address to complain (while I don't think there is a good reason for it). You should set pref("network.security.ports.banned.override", "PORT1,PORT2"); for selected ports. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

And if you had I think SLED10 together with Zenworks would be a good idea and I'm sure Novell would solve this problem for you. At the moment I'm not really sure what you want to get from Novell? A modified Firefox (which wouldn't be Firefox for trademark reasons anymore) and all of that for 1000 corporate clients running on openSUSE 10.2 for free? Please note that my comment shouldn't be a rant but I want to understand what you want to achieve. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
