[Bug 466353] New: The process for smb protocol died unexpectedly - konqueror does not work with file names with international chars
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=466353 Summary: The process for smb protocol died unexpectedly - konqueror does not work with file names with international chars Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: ah@forex.pl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-1.1 Firefox/3.0.5 Konequeror seems to die when browsing certain directories via samba. I have tested it with host running Windows32 and NAS running Linux (DNS-323) I suspect the problem is with international character sets - I am not sure if this is unicode related or not. But the bottom line is when file in the directory do NOT contain any foreign names konqueror seems to work fine. Gnome seems to work fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. setup remote samba directory 2. put in that directory some files with foreign chars 3. try to browse the remote directory with konqueror -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
