[Bug 194711] IBM Java 1.4.2 & 1.5.0 does not work with newest glibc
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=194711 ------- Comment #56 from bugproxy@us.ibm.com 2007-01-22 11:16 MST ------- ------- Additional Comments From suzukikp@in.ibm.com (prefers email at suzuki@in.ibm.com) 2007-01-22 13:12 EDT ------- (In reply to comment #59)
------ Comment #54 from dbornkessel@novell.com 2007-01-22 10:59 MST ------- To recreate the problem: Use a sles10 installation, download the attachement from Comment #1 , install this glibc and run
I did this on my machine:
adams:/tmp# rpm -Uhv /tmp/glibc-x86_64.rpm --force Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:glibc ########################################### [100%] adams:/tmp# java -version libjvm.so preloadLibrary: /libj9vm23.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory libjvm.so failed to load: j9vm23
The installed glibc was the attachement from Comment #1 !!! Alternativly: Use the glibc from openSUSE 10.2:
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.2/repo/oss/suse/x86_64/glibc-2....
We have been able to reproduce the problem with the above steps. But, we could not reproduce the problem with the glibc which we built from the src rpm, using rpmbuild. Also, please note the "object file not recognized" errors from objdump in comment #51.
