https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=731021 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=731021#c0 Summary: GNOME Networkmanager disables WIFI as long as eth-cable is plugged Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jorschiedt@didas.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 System connected via eth0 to an isolated Network. Want to download from Internet via WIFI. When I disconnect eth0 in NetworkManager, wireless networks are shown as deactivated. rfkill doesn't affect the status. Also, it's not possible to enable wireless, because the button is deactivated. Detaching / reattaching the cable isn't really the solution... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Connect to WIFI Network 2.Plug in eth cable 3.disconnect eth0 in Network Manager Actual Results: WIFI is shown as disabled, also the "enable wireless" is grayed out Expected Results: WIFI should be available, so user can connect/disconnect on his own without having to detach the eth cable. jorschiedt@strolch:~/Desktop> rpm -qa|grep -i network yast2-network-2.20.12-0.3.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-openvpn-gnome-0.8.2-6.1.x86_64 cnetworkmanager-0.21.1-24.1.noarch NetworkManager-glib-0.8.2-15.24.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-vpnc-0.8.2-4.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-openvpn-lang-0.8.2-6.1.noarch NetworkManager-doc-0.8.2-15.24.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-pptp-lang-0.8.2-4.1.noarch NetworkManager-0.8.2-15.24.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-openvpn-0.8.2-6.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-pptp-0.8.2-4.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-pptp-gnome-0.8.2-4.1.x86_64 libproxy1-networkmanager-0.4.7-3.3.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-gnome-0.8.2-9.10.1.x86_64 glib-networking-2.27.90-5.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-vpnc-gnome-0.8.2-4.1.x86_64 NetworkManager-vpnc-lang-0.8.2-4.1.noarch -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
