[Bug 1234914] kernel-firmware-nvidia-gspx-G06-cuda lagging behind breaks nvidia-open for Tumbleweed users
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1234914 https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1234914#c3 --- Comment #3 from Stefan Dirsch <sndirsch@suse.com> --- (In reply to Ilya Bizyaev from comment #2)
I tried to switch to kernel-firmware-nvidia-gspx-G06, but, unfortunately, got hit with https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/patch-for-565-57-01-linux-kernel-6-12/ 313260, so I cannot confirm that it works yet. Looks like openSUSE will need a patch...
550.142 already includes [...] #if defined(NV_FILE_OPERATIONS_FOP_UNSIGNED_OFFSET_PRESENT) .fop_flags = FOP_UNSIGNED_OFFSET, #endif [...] so I don't think this patch is still needed for 550.142. But it still applies to 565.57.01, so I will add it for this version.
But I think I found what prevented me from upgrading to 565 with kernel-firmware-nvidia-gspx-G06: the "cuda-drivers" package requires "nvidia-driver-G06-kmp or nvidia-open-driver-G06-kmp", neither of which is provided by nvidia-open-driver-G06-signed-cuda-kmp-default. I had to uninstall "cuda-drivers" and CUDA runtime components for dependencies to resolve.
CUDA Deps changed a lot since 555. :-( -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
