https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=469177 Summary: kdebluetooth (kde 3.5) can't find usb bluetooth adapter with last version of bluez Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: zoz@novell.com ReportedBy: dencorpos@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.63 (X11; Linux i686; U; ru) Presto/2.1.1 With bluez from openSUSE 11.1 I can't send files over OBEX and syncing with my mobile using kbluetooth. I'm using kde 3.5.10. The solution I found is to use bluez-utils from openSUSE 11.0. My laptop is Samsung Q210. It's bluetooth card is "Bus 007 Device 002: ID 0a5c:2101 Broadcom Corp. A-Link BlueUsbA2 Bluetooth" My system is openSUSE 11.1 which was fully updated from openSUSE 11.0 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install openSUSE 11.1 with packages kdebluetooth and bluez 2. Boot computer and run kbluetooth Actual Results: I got message that "Bluetooth service cannot start" or so. Expected Results: Mobile devices that can be found must be viewed in kbluetooth'es window. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

i think this bug is a duplicate of bug #450107. because bug #450107 is about Kbluetooth in KDE3 not working. and bug #438956 is about kbluetooth4 in KDE4 not working. and this bug #469177 is also about KDE 3.5 and NOT KDE 4.

Rainer, this is OK to duplicate it in bug 450107. In the end the solution will be the same for KDE3 and KDE4. The problem is in the communication between the kbluetooth applet and the new bluetooth driver in the openSUSE 11.1 which is desktop manager independent. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=450107 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

are you sure? because in bug #438956#c75 Tom Patzig solved the issues with kde4 and closed bug #438956. whereas bug #450107 (with kde3) is still open. toms suggestion is to use kde4. so it seems there will be no real solution for kde3. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=450107 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
