http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=553811 Summary: Segmentation fault occurs when use sable-mode in festival Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: RC 2 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pk_karwan@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727) In opensuse 11.2 RC2, when I try to use festival in sable-mode, I get karwan@cosmos:~> festival Festival Speech Synthesis System 1.96:beta July 2004 Copyright (C) University of Edinburgh, 1996-2004. All rights reserved. For details type `(festival_warranty)' festival> (tts_file "ex.sable" 'sable) Segmentation fault karwan@cosmos:~> This problem also occurs in opensuse 11.1. For this reason, I cannot use festival with speech-dispatcher. However, in opensuse 11.1, this problem can be easily fixed using the following procedure. 1. download festival-1.96-72.70.src.rpm from http://download.opensuse.org/source/distribution/11.1/repo/oss/suse/src/ 2. compile festival and speech_tools using the patch files 3. look in file /festival/src/modules/Text/text_modes.cc: void tts_file_user_mode(LISP filename, LISP params) { volatile EST_String tmpname = make_tmp_filename(); EST_String inname = get_c_string(filename); (1) EST_String *filter; volatile EST_TokenStream ts; and replace line (1) with EST_String filter; Note that: According to festival-1.96.patch file the line volatile EST_String filter; in the original source is replaced by EST_String *filter; Nevertheless, I think that this line should be replaced by EST_String filter; Would you please fix the above problem in opensuse11.2 release.
