The mkinitrd fails during the installation with the flowing error messages (partly shortened):

mchang provided me with a dud for perl-bootloader that I have testet on several machines without any problems.
(by trenn): Be aware that not all, but quite some machines fail and it would be great to have a fix in factory asap, so that we can continue with factory installations.

That testing DUD was built with following patches from latest perl bootloader github repo.
0001-unify-indention.patch 0002-use-grub2-probe-to-get-device-map.patch 0003-clean-up-unused-functions-and-variables.patch 0004-remove-floppy-in-device-map.patch 0005-fix-grub2-set-default-error-during-installation.patch 0006-better-way-to-know-kerenl-device-of-physical-drive.patch
Would it be possible for you to commit them to openSUSE factory?
