The the flickering when playing flash animations is a known issue but i want to pay attention to the video flickering (even when using Xv extension). On the other side, there is no flickering when watching video files with radeon 6.12.2 driver (the flash is the same, there is flickering). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.playing video files nevermind which player is used or Xv is in use 2. 3. OK, when I say "there's flickering", I'm not saying that it is so much that the flash clip or video file cannot be watched. But there is actually flickering, it is not so much but there it is.
I'm extremely sensitive to flickering and tearing, and when I say that I didn't see *any* flickering I mean that. The radeon driver is currently a bit better regarding vertical blanking interrupt stuff, so tearing is possible. Improving vertical blank and xv stuff will probably be part of the next hackweek.
These are some good examples (using adobe flash player version 10.0.22.87) in which the combination of black and white is very good in order to notice the actual flickering (watching them in full screen is preferable!!) .
Will test that - but I doubt that there is any difference to the hd clips I tested.
M56 : Mobility Radeon X1600; Mobility FireGL V5200.
