[Bug 334045] New: Large console font causes crash on exit from X server
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=334045 Summary: Large console font causes crash on exit from X server Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: gay@sfu.ca QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Running KDE on opensuse 10.3. If I set a large console font, e.g. ter-124b.psfu, using YAST sysconfig editor, the system hangs whenever you do anything that shuts down the X server (end session, shutdown, reboot, ctl-alt-backspace). Machine hangs with a blank screen showing openSUSE in white at top left. Need hard power cycle to recover. Subsequent reboot is ok, but problem recurs, unless small console font is reinstalled. If I boot into runlevel 3 and install console font by editing /etc/sysconfig/console, everything works, and large font appears on console, provided I always work in runlevel 3. If I go back to runlevel 5, the problem re-appears on server shutdown. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
