So I selected something, saved it as default, then if I run something else it changes this saved default desktop setting, rather than putting it back. This is just against the philosophy of any sound UI design. If you go from a destkop mode, to full screen, then any reasonable expectation is for the same settings to be restored. Why on earth is DDC being queried? That's been over-ridden by user selection, it's one thing auto-generating defaults and another to ignore a previous setup.
