http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=591731 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=591731#c0 Summary: Error when accessing remote /home with PCManFM Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Milestone 4 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: LXDE AssignedTo: andrea@opensuse.org ReportedBy: lee_matheson@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100317 SUSE/3.6.2-1.3 Firefox/3.6.2 Problem with pcmanfm-0.9.3beta+git20100317-2.1.i586 on openSUSE-11.3 Milestone4 build 0515 installed from DVD. PC is on a home LAN. When connect with PCManFM to other PCs using "sftp://ip-address" and then navigate (by clicking on the home icon) to /home one gets two errors: (1) host name not known and (2) the specified location is not known. These two errors are believed due to the sftp address being changed when "home" is clicked on to: sftp://ip-addresshome (ie no " / " between ip-address and home ). Manually inserting a " / " between ip-address and home and then home can be accessed. some illustrations: (1) access to "root" directory via sftp in PCManFM : http://www.imagebam.com/image/4d163073955737 (2) 1st error after clicking on "home" icon : http://www.imagebam.com/image/62aafc73955763 (3) 2nd error after clicking "ok" on 1st error : http://www.imagebam.com/image/14081573955765 (4) successful connection to "home" after inserting the " / " : http://www.imagebam.com/image/e799be73955773 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. simply do an sftp connection to another pc on the lan. 2. 3. Actual Results: effort to access /home on remote pc fails initially. Only succeeds when / manually inserted. Expected Results: Should not have to manually insert / -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Some clarification: This problem occurs for all folders in / directory. ie if the SFTP address is: sftp://lee@192.168.2.121 and one clicks on the 'etc' folder, one gets the same error. BUT if one first manually changes the location bar to: sftp://lee@192.168.2.121/ (with a ' / ' on the end) and click on a folder (such as 'etc' or 'home' ) it works. Also , if one is in sftp://lee@192.168.2.121/home (with no ' / ' on the end ) and clicks on directory/folder 'lee' then the ' / ' is automatically inserted after 'home' and one connects to 'lee' folder with no problem. It appears this problem is thus specific to the root ( / ) directory. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
