I don't even know if we are using it for anything. /var/adm/fillup-templates/sysconfig.language is part of aaa_base. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Jiri, yes, you are right, RC_LANG.
Well, it is used by whole system.
;-) Of course RC_LANG is used. I mean that Type: in its description... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

You will see combobox with possible values, there a lot of them, but a lot of them missing, among others (missing) are pl_PL.* Did I clarify the problem? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

There are just too many possible values for this variable to list all possible ones. Agreed ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=360394 User bluedzins@wp.pl added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=360394#c7 --- Comment #7 from Maciej Pilichowski <bluedzins@wp.pl> 2008-02-25 01:43:55 MST --- I rather object. It is true that list of all combinations are rather long, but there should be at least left the schema how to build those entries. So user does not have to guess is UTF8 or UTF-8 suffix recognized. How about two comboboxes [ lang prefix ] [ mode suffix ] First would contain: en_EN de_DE pl_PL etc. the second ISO-8859-1 ISO-8859-2 UTF-8 and so on The list are not huge, they are prepared once, and once prepared they reduce risk of errors while entering them (manually) by users. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

For setting the system language, sysconfig editor is not the primary way, it is "yast2 language" anyway. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The list is just a helper for some of them. And, as noted above, using sysconfig editor is for expert users (who know how to use it) anyway, primary way is language module. So, Rudi: back to you: either leave it as it is, with current list serving as a help for some users or remove it entirely or find a way how to produce list of all possible correct values. Now I think I'm for sticking to the current state. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
