Why do you need to run gnome-terminal under KDE, you have Konsole for that? 2. Running gnome-terminal under KDE works from first time, but the terminal window shrinks down to a small window. Resizing the window has no effect because it reverts back to a small window. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

[2] is still an issue with 12.1 as of this writing. I also tried with KR47 without improvement. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

And i repeat why not use Konsole from KDE? If you like Terminal from Gnome the i suggest you start using Gnome. To me this bug seems irrelevant since both desktops have their own CLI. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I want to run gnome-terminal because gnome-terminal properly supports Unicode (specifically the NFD and NFKD normalizations) and konsole doesn't. Furthermore, it still wouldn't 'irrelevant' even if they were functionally identical. I should be able to run /any/ program from /any/ desktop. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The workaround I use for the shrinking window is to open three tabs after launching it, after that it won't resize after adding more tabs. Another thing you could try for your crash is to delete all gnome terminal related files under .config, .local, .gnome*, .gconfig*, etc. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

As such, this is a non-supported scenario. (workarounds would be to spawn /usr/lib64/gnome-settings-daemon-3.0/gnome-settings-daemon, but I don't know what side effects it has..) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I tried out that patch and gnome-terminal worked fine for me in a KDE session _without_ starting any gnome-settings-daemon manually. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
