[Bug 800424] New: grub2 has wrong initrd entries for other Linux
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800424 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800424#c0 Summary: grub2 has wrong initrd entries for other Linux Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 12.3 Beta 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Bootloader AssignedTo: jsrain@suse.com ReportedBy: posix.ru@googlemail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0 Hi Andrey, I did a fresh install of 12.3-Beta1 in a separate partition on my notebook that already had another 12.3-Beta1 on it. Grub2 made first entry unbootable - I get kernel panic (Hard panic). So, as you know, there is a grub2-bug, that already fixed: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=799663 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800042 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=799457 but this fix doesn't work for me... #/sbin/update-bootloader refresh Specify exactly one operation, either 'add', 'remove' or 'refresh' (I get the same output for "add" and "remove") As I can see, all these reporters have x86_64 arch, but my notebook has 32-bits CPU (but update-bootloader is actually perl-script (?)). And I installed "Minimal X Window". I would like to try this solution: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=799457#c4 but this project is already deleted. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just install 12.3 Beta1 and enjoy multibooting 2. 3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The fix is not yet included in beta1, even not in the factory.
Could you please try os-prober package in Base:System project instead? http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Base:/System/openSUSE_Factory/
Thanks.
I updated os-prober to version 1.49-25.1. It doesn't help. I get the same: #/sbin/update-bootloader refresh Specify exactly one operation, either 'add', 'remove' or 'refresh' (I get the same output for "add" and "remove") -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

#/sbin/update-bootloader refresh Specify exactly one operation, either 'add', 'remove' or 'refresh'
(I get the same output for "add" and "remove")
Please open separate bug report. It is unrelated to this problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

it is /sbin/update-bootloader --refresh respective --add or --remove. there should be man page for this tool update-bootloader [operation] [options] operation is one of --add, --remove, --refresh or --reinit. valid options are --help, --man, --image <file>, --initrd <file>, --xen-kernel <file>, --xen, --default, --previous, --name <string>, --force, --force-default. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
