Summary: KDE Menu Item "Calender" Icon Looks Dated Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: malv_star@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: ---
This icon for the KDE Menu Item "Office" -> "Calender" looks extremely out of place compared to the smoothness of the other icons in the menu. Perhaps this icon could be replaced with a different one for the sake of visual consistency?

--- Comment #2 from Malvern Star malv_star@hotmail.com 2007-09-26 12:15:42 MST --- My suggestion for an icon is the "ktimer" icon. It fits in with the "Office" section of the theme. Please note that this is a suggestion for openSuSE 10.3, not 11.0, which I seem to have selected by accident.

--- Comment #3 from Stephan Binner stbinner@novell.com 2007-09-27 01:21:42 MST --- You're mistaken: I moved it to 11.0 component as it's too late to fix this for 10.3.

--- Comment #4 from Jakub Steiner jimmac@novell.com 2007-10-17 05:55:45 MST --- I hope the oxygen guys will have something done for this? I can suggest a tango-styled icon, but I doubt that would please the KDE folk...

--- Comment #5 from Jakub Steiner jimmac@novell.com 2008-05-30 02:24:54 MDT --- I s this still relevant? It appears the oxygen icon set includes a number of calendar view icons including view-pim-calendar that's quite appropriate for a desktop launcher.

--- Comment #6 from Jakub Steiner jimmac@novell.com 2008-06-23 04:26:37 MDT --- It appears the old crystal icon is still being used. I'm suggesting using view-pim-calendar from oxygen for this.

--- Comment #8 from Malvern Star malv_star@hotmail.com 2009-03-05 12:36:10 MST --- Actually, if you right click on the KDE4 menu and change it back to the classic style, this problem is still present. KDE4 users using the "Classic" menu style will still encounter this issue. The icon looks increasingly out of place given the very new and shiny oxygen icons in use everywhere else.
Perhaps the "contacts" icon or even the "ktimer" icon included in 11.1 could be used instead.
