[Bug 649753] New: MySQL keeps marking tables as "crashed"
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=649753 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=649753#c0 Summary: MySQL keeps marking tables as "crashed" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: reg@capiogroup.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.2.11) Gecko/20101012 Firefox/3.6.11 Okay, I'm going to have to rely on one of your experts to tell me how to give you the correct information to track this down because I don't know how to at all. However, here is what I can tell you: I am running multiple web sites using Drupal setup in a multi-site setup. I have a cronjob that runs every 30 mins. or so that iterates through all the MySQL tables. If an error is reported, it then run the MySQL command to fix the error on the table it found it on. There are about databases and each database that relates to a web site, has about 150 tables. The tables that are crashing are the ones that are most frequently accessed. E.g.: cache tables and logging tables are most likely. It is occasionally but often enough to be regarded as a problem. I have run a file system check and fix on reboot to make sure it wasn't a problem of a corrupted file system however I have only done so once. I have done a check on the file system several times without a reboot just to see if there was any problems. All mounts are Ext4 except where they obviously should not be such as the swap area. I have 8GB of RAM and it never seems to get all used up so I don't ever swap file use or disk thrashing. I am using an 8 port 3ware RAID where most commonly read areas are on a RAID 5 setup and commonly written to areas, such as /var/... are on mirrored disks for faster write. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. I don't know how to find out exactly how to determine the cause, I have looked at the MySQL logs but couldn't see anything obvious. Perhaps a different log level would help. 2. 3. Actual Results: Corrupted MySQL tables are found on occasion. Expected Results: No tables marked corrupted. I wish I had more but if you can give me some diagnostic steps I'll be happy to do them. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
