When I log-in just once, then the reboot or shutdown process fails. By just pressing "CTRL"+"Alt"+"F1", the process is continued. When I've log-in more then once, the shutdown/reboot process goes normal. By using the on/of switch of the computer (just pressing it shortly), the shutdown sequence is experiencing no errors. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I must mention this didn't happen on OpenSUSE 11.0 and it started only after updating to 11.1. Whenever shutting down or restarting, the laptop won't complete the process on its own. Maybe someone else could check this out, in my case, if I hold the i.e. CTRL key down, the process will continue. Same thing if I run my fingers on the touchpad. Other than that, I tried leaving it for a while during shutdown but it never completed (after around 30 mins). My logs don't show anything related to this problem. Also i notice the following, when the computer (running on battery) hangs during startup/shutdown , connect the power chord and swith to ac power and the whole process completes fine. i did a small workaround - just add the following - "acpi=noirq" to kernel parameters finex the issue for me. but not sure what is its side effects ( i found that after i do this , i cannot get back from a suspend mode) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
