[Bug 1204907] New: Online-update always refreshes sources
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1204907 Bug ID: 1204907 Summary: Online-update always refreshes sources Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.4 Hardware: Other OS: openSUSE Leap 15.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: bugz57@top.geek.nz QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- I often re-run online-update, and know that all repos have been refreshed a minute ago. Even when there was no changes to any repos, online-update insists on loading metadata for all 28 repos again. Mirrors around here are slow, and this is wasting bandwidth and mirror capacity. The Skip button is mainly unresponsive, and only skips the single repo that's currently being refreshed. It's useful when yast hangs with this repo (network /server limits). It's no good for skipping the whole refresh. There is no Skip-All button. Also I'm not entirely sure about the necessity to refresh a repo that was refreshed a minute ago. Should that be more a user-triggered action, like refresh-all-now, or refresh-thisrepo-now? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Code: https://github.com/yast/yast-online-update/blob/fa4605badc061fad387f432fb2ac... https://github.com/yast/yast-online-update/blob/master/src/modules/OnlineUpd... Code comment states that this is a temporary work-around for bug 154990 from 2006. Code reads as if it does not implement repo.refresh.delay from /etc/zypp/zypp.conf with a default of 10 minutes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
