[Bug 1155105] New: solver.onlyRequires=true being ignored after update of libzypp to 17.15.0-1.2
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1155105 Bug ID: 1155105 Summary: solver.onlyRequires=true being ignored after update of libzypp to 17.15.0-1.2 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp Assignee: zypp-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: paul.pgp-7@gmx.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Following an update of libzypp to 17.15.0-1.2 "solver.onlyRequires = true" in "zypp.conf" appears to be ignored. For example, when updating digikam -> 6.3.0-201.5 and vlc -> 3.0.8-5.7, it was proposed that both digikam-lang and vlc-lang (both recommended packages) be installed. Looking at the change log for libzypp I note the introduction of "solver.focus", and wonder if this is related to the change in behaviour, does that in some way take precedence over solver.onlyRequires If this is not a bug per se, then how can I restore the original, ie, no recommends, behaviour. # zypper up --debug-solver ... Generating solver test case... Solver test case generated successfully at /var/log/zypper.solverTestCase. Then pack the output directory together with /var/log/zypper.log and attach it to the bugreport.
In case the testcase exceeds the 10MB limit for bugzilla uploads, you can use 'split' to divide the file into smaller pieces:
$ cd /tmp $ tar cvjf zypper.solverTestCase.tar.bz2 /var/log/zypper.solverTestCase/ $ split -b 10M --additional-suffix=-zypper.solverTestCase.tar.bz2 \ zypper.solverTestCase.tar.bz2 The created pieces will be named like this: xaa-zypper.solverTestCase.tar.bz2 xab-zypper.solverTestCase.tar.bz2 xac-zypper.solverTestCase.tar.bz2 ...

So it's the requested language support that adds digikam-lang, not the digicam package.
So I'm guessing that also applies to the vlc package. The one thing I will note however is, this wasn't happening prior to the libzypp update. So I'm slightly baffled by that... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
