https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=444342 Summary: Bad Colours with Hauppauge PVR 150 Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: hans-ulrich.scholl@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- After the new kernel kernel-default-base-2.6.27.4-2.5 had again an implementation of ivtv, my Hauppauge PVR 150 works e.g. with mplayer, kaffeine or vlc but I can't get acceptable colours. After the upgrade from openSUSE 11.0 I get an intensive red coloured picture with many graphics errors. The situation is better if I change the contrast and hue to a black and white picture but I can't get an reasonably coloured picture. The situation didn't improve with the last kernel update. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So, the device worked as expected on 11.0? Can you attach a screen shot of the issue?

Yes, it worked without any problem and it's no hardware problem because it still works with Vista. Regards, Hans-Ulrich -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I've tried a 11.1 beta 5 life cd and installed ivtv and ivtv-firmware, then the pvr 150 can be used again with good colours. But I don't yet see which configuration files have to be changed and I think the bug is nevertheless important because not all people do a fresh install. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It was no openSUSE problem but a problem of tv-viewer. Everytime I started this program it changed the configuration of the tv card and all other programs (mplayer, kaffeine) didn't work either correctly. When I watch tv e. g. with vlc /dev/video1 it works well as long as I don't start tv-viewer. So the bad colours are a problem of tv-viewer and not of openSUSE 11.1. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

tv-viewer is a script that allows the user to change channels when watchig tv with the Hauppauge TV 150. The software is available at http://home.arcor.de/saedelaere/index_eng.html. There must be some mistake in this script that derogates this card when using openSUSE 11.1. So I'll write a bug report to saedelaere. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
