[Bug 437141] New: texlive: split this package
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=437141 Summary: texlive: split this package Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Factory Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jengelh@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: werner@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer IMHO the texlive package is a bit fat with its 357 MB (when installed, according to rpm -qi). I hereby suggest that some files in it be split off: texlive-afm-fonts (texmf/fonts/afm/*) texlive-tfm-fonts (texmf/fonts/tfm/*) texlive-type1-cmsuper-font (texmf/fonts/type1/cm-super) texlive-type1-fonts (texmf/fonts/type1/*, i.e. all but cm-super) texlive-opentype-fonts texlive-other-fonts? Reason for this is that I generally do not need any of these fonts but Latin Modern. cm-super is a bitmap font; not only are its files huge, but it also looks ugly on-screen with most free PDF readers. AFM/TFM I never really heard of because pdflatex will use Type1 fonts anyway. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
