I cannot start any OO.o application from the system menu or from the command line. Just nothing happens, no error message. Oddly enough, each time I start the KDE session, a reloaded OpenOffice session from the previous 10.2 installation opens, but with no file open. And I cannot open any file (Ctrl-O) in that reloaded session - instead of the file dialog, just nothing happens. And if I close the session, I cannot run it again. Attaching strace log. The last several SIGINTs are my futile attempts to break the program using Ctrl-C. The run hanged; Ctrl-C was unsuccessful, so I killed the program by kill -9.

- Finally, does removing the following directory fix the issue?
rm ~/.ooo-2.0
It does not help, sorry.
NOTE: You may want to back this directory up before removing it if you want to keep your original OOo configuration settings (ie cp ~/.ooo-2.0 ~/.ooo-2.0_bak)
