http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=541957 Summary: kst 2 will not open data files Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: roger@opq.se QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090909 SUSE/3.5.3-1.2 Firefox/3.5.3 kst-2.0.0beta2-4.1 (and previous 2.0 betas) To open a data file in kst, one uses the data Tools->DataWizard. KDE 1.7 works fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start kst 2.Select Tools->Data Wizard 3.Try to enter a name direct, or choose the button to navigate for a file. Actual Results: You cannot select a data file. Expected Results: You can select a data file. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I can do this. I can add that the newer ks2 betas in OBS also do not work. So, kst 1.7 is still the one to use.
Please post here the reference to the upstream bug report, so it can be used for reference. Thanks.
BTW, and OOC, who decides an application goes into the Education category on OBS? kst is Engineering/Technical, not Educational. I think an Engineering/Technical (or some reasonable name) category is needed. Educational imples tools to help learn, like language learning, typing, and the like. kst is no such tool. It is a data plotting and analysis program. Would you put gnuplot in Educational? I think there is a whole category of this software that is hidden in incorrect categories, and thus not found.
I cannot tell you, but I agree with you. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
