[Bug 810000] New: SIPE/OCS/Lync no longer working in Empathy
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=810000 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=810000#c0 Summary: SIPE/OCS/Lync no longer working in Empathy Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: robin.roevens@uza.be QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0 In openSUSE 12.2 I had empathy configured to connect to Lync using the SIPE protocol. This worked by using purple-sipe trough telepathy-haze . Since openSUSE 12.3 this no longer works, empathy always gives an "Authentication failed" error when connecting. When running HAZE_PERSIST=1 HAZE_DEBUG=all /usr/lib/telepathy-haze in a console I notice this error when it tries to connect: -------- purple/account-Message: Connecting to account XXXXXXXXXXXX. purple/connection-Message: Connecting. gc = 0x12d5a30 purple/connection-Message: Connection error on 0x12d5a30 (reason: 2 description: Password required) purple/account-Message: Connecting to account XXXXXXXXXXXX. purple/account-Message: Destroying account 0x12cf400 purple/account-Message: Disconnecting account (0x12cf400) purple/connection-Message: Disconnecting connection 0x12d5a30 (haze:18650): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_hash_table_foreach: assertion `hash_table != NULL' failed (haze:18650): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to `HazeConnection' (haze:18650): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to `TpBaseConnection' purple/connection-Message: Destroying connection 0x12d5a30 (haze:18650): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid unclassed pointer in cast to `TpBaseConnection' (haze:18650): tp-glib-CRITICAL **: tp_base_connection_finish_shutdown: assertion `TP_IS_BASE_CONNECTION (self)' failed ---------- I noticed the "Password required" error, but the password is set in the account settings, and Sso on or off makes no difference. Using Pidgin with the same settings connects and works without problems. Using telepathy-plugin-sipe instead of libpurple-plugin-sipe does make me login correctly, but there half of my contacts are displayed as sip:username@company.com instead of their alias, their status is Offline, while i know for sure those people are currently online. And when I try to initiate a chat, I see this error in empathy-debugger: ensure_text_channel_cb: Failed to ensure text channel: Not implemented So I find no usable solution to connect to our Lync server since openSUSE 12.3 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install libpurple-plugin-sipe 2.Setup empathy to connect to a valid SIPE account 3.Edit connection settings and fill in password 4.Try to connect Actual Results: Authentication Failure and error purple/connection-Message: Connection error on 0x12d5a30 (reason: 2 description: Password required) Expected Results: Correctly connect to Lync server -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
