Compare eg Support.desktop from kdebase3-SUSE on openSUSE 11.0 versus kdebase3-SUSE from openSUSE 11.1. The translations were present in the file, as I can remember, in beta 4. I found this bug in 10.3 with KDE4.1.x from factory as well. Why are now no translations in the .desktop files anymore?
That's because of fate 301344 (so we can easily update translations of desktop files).
