[Bug 1185540] New: automake: test-driver script contains bash specific constructions
https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1185540 Bug ID: 1185540 Summary: automake: test-driver script contains bash specific constructions Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.3 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Development Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: mkubecek@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Patch 0001-correct-parameter-parsing-in-test-driver-script.patch in our automake package adds bash specific constructions to test-driver script which has /bin/sh as an interpreter. While this is not a problem on openSUSE where /bin/sh is bash, the script is copied into package tarballs where it can cause problems on other distributions (as already happened with ethtool 5.8). The patch was already fixed in Factory (bug 1076146) but affected version is still present in all SLE15 and Leap 15.x packages. The easiest fix is to copy updated patch from Factory package (or devel project). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Hello Michal, Can't you simply submit it yourself? All the praise would go to me if I did that ;-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Created (IBS) SR#241202 now. I didn't want to submit it behind your back as I know from my own experience how unfortunate is it when a package you maintain changes without you even knowing about it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Well, being package maintainer/bugowner the change would not go unnoticed, I still have to accept it. But you're right: I could have been in the process of preparing a bigger submission myself and then ... GOTCHA ... yours would have interfered somehow. I still don't know if there is a proper way around that. Thanks anyway! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
