[Bug 1168368] New: graphics:darktable/darktable: Bug
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1168368 Bug ID: 1168368 Summary: graphics:darktable/darktable: Bug Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software Assignee: asn@cryptomilk.org Reporter: duelistgamer@yahoo.co.in QA Contact: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Darktable is unable to find camera and lens profiles for its lens correction module on OpenSUSE tumbleweed in spite of those profiles already existing in lensfun. Apparently darktable requires liblensfun1, which is no longer provided in the Tumbleweed repository. I had an older version somehow kept on my system through updates (didn't really pay attention). Removing it breaks darktable's dependencies and removes the lens correction module entirely from the software. I added KDE's Extra repository and installed liblensfun1 through that, but the original problem of lens profiles not being loaded returns. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Someone thought it is a good idea to put an alpha version of lensfun with a totally different API into tumbleweed.
However this got reverted to lensfun 0.3.2, but you need to wait till it shows up in tumbleweed again and packages are rebuilt.
Thanks! Is it safe to assume that this will be fixed by the end of next week, given how frequently updates are pushed? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I cannot answer this, but installing lensfun-data from KDE:Extra should fix your problem. The previous update (that is in Tumbleweed currently) was built with liblensfun2, and therefore only works with liblensfun2. liblensfun1 (that darktable uses) doesn't find the files at all, as the install location contains the version number (/usr/share/lensfun/version_1/ vs. /usr/share/lensfun/version_2/). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

To clarify, you need to downgrade lensfun-data to some 0.3.2 version (as opposed to 0.3.95.something).
Thank you, that helped! I have something else to report also, which is related to this. Apparently Rawtherapee uses lensfun 0.3.95 (and presumably lensfun2) because its lens profile correction tool could not detect any profiles from lensfun when I reverted to 0.3.2. However when I went back to 0.3.95 Rawtherapee was again able to list all the lens profiles. I think you will have to keep both versions on tumbleweed simultaneously until both programs use the same API. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I think you will have to keep both versions on tumbleweed simultaneously until both programs use the same API. The rawtherapee in Tumbleweed should again use liblensfun1 (and therefore be compatible to lensfun-data 0.3.2) once the lensfun "update" (which actually is a downgrade to 0.3.2) arrives in Tumbleweed.
