Looks like most pxeboot setups are broken. Why not adding a vga=0x314 option as we use it on our CD/DVDs now since more than 10 years, so at least 800x600 vesafb is available and fbdev driver can be used instead? Adjusting severity/priority accordingly. Luc, we have a GM45 machine, but I'm not sure if we can reproduce this issue at all with it. This might be (again) a broken VideoBIOS. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

vga=0x314 makes the graphical installer boot properly. I added that to the directions on the opensuse wiki for PXE. Perhaps this vga=0x314 should be default for the loader Kernel: openSUSE-11.1-Beta5-DVD-x86_64/boot/x86_64/loader/linux
Luc, we have a GM45 machine, but I'm not sure if we can reproduce this issue at all with it. This might be (again) a broken VideoBIOS.
Side note: the graphics work fine with the intel driver after the install. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Our hands are pretty much tied there. Other people might have other broken vesa modes in their bioses. Brandon, you can select which resolution you want in one of the initial screens. Please remember which ones work for you, and use these from now on. This is, as far as i know, the only help we can offer you here. so, sorry, wontfix. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
