https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=447553 Summary: PPC NET CD doesn't detect network card, module bmac missing Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 5 Platform: Macintosh OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: osl2008@googlemail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer Can't get far trying to install 11.1 Beta 5 on G3 Powerbook, because not only does the PPC NET CD (build 0127) fail to detect the network card but the required module bmac seems to be missing (can't load manually either). In fact when trying to load it manually, the list of ppc modules overflows the screen with no way to see the first 8 - but testing these 8 one-by-one shows no sign of bmac; using virtual console 9 and trying "modprobe bmac" gives "module bmac not found" This was all OK in 11.0 on same hardware. Probably unrelated but the "virtual console 4" shows only "Startup..." and no modprobe logs -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
