According to the GUI it checks for updates though the progress bar is not displayed, i.e. it stays at 0% or even before that. It does not lock zypper so it seems it is not doing anything. i can't see it. i checked http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSU... and http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSU... and http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSU... but there ist version 0.9.17 everywhere. and does ist still require PackageKit 0.6.3, even in the 11.2 version, where PackageKit 0.6.3 is not available at all? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

thank you very much sven. i didn't know about this feature, because i am not familiar with build-service. until now i only knew and used the repos. ok, so i have to wait some time. but does the dependency from kupdateapplet version 0.9.18 to PackageKit 0.6.3 still exist? because PackageKit 0.6.3 ist not available for opensuse11.2. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

That's the problem of all these *Kit and NetworkManager projects, they change their interfaces and thus give those developing the applications that use them a hard time. 0.9.9 is what you have to use for 11.2. If there are any major bugs you should report them so they get fixed via the official update repos. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Since PackageKit changed, new versions of kupdateapplet need new versions of PackageKit.
yes, i know. the Build Log for Package PackageKit from Project GNOME:Factory for opensuse11.2 ( https://build.opensuse.org/package/live_build_log?arch=x86_64&package=PackageKit&project=GNOME%3AFactory&repository=openSUSE_11.2 ) shows, that the build of PackageKit 0.6.3 failed. what is strange is that the Build Log states on top "Status: Build finished"..... and the Build Status on https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=PackageKit&project=GNOME%3AFactory says: "finished".... it seems there is something wrong.
0.9.9 is what you have to use for 11.2. If there are any major bugs you should
yes, i know. but i am using KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop on opensuse11.2. and part of KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop is version 0.9.17/0.9.18 of kupdateapplet.. and because version 0.9.17/0.9.18 of kupdateapplet requires version 0.6.3 from PackageKit i am stuck, because it doesn't exist. so KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop for opensuse11.2 has a dependency problem. and of course, i whouldn't ask about all of this, if i whould use standard opensuse11.2 with no KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Factory is primarily meant for 11.3. So some packages might just not work for older distro versions.
