David, I hit the issue in this branch:

You need to install the MIT Kerberos Server and build Samba with

./confiugre --with-mitkrb5

Then you need to revert the patch: "TEMP WORKAROUND: Disable MIT KRB5 replay cache."

make make test

I don't remember which test it was which revealed the problem. I don't have time to look into this right now.

I've --with-mitkrb5 configured and run the selftest test suite with and without the proposed fix applied. In both cases the test results appear similar.
