So, it looks like Apha2 is using yast-gtk at a state that didn't feature something needed by the installer. To be more specific, YDialog::openInternal() and ::activate() were doing nothing. If you're using your Alpha2 system in your everyday, I can give you instructions in how to update yast-gtk. So, there might be a yast2-gtk package in Build Services or something...
