[Bug 335280] New: No DRI with Intel-945G on 64-Bit-Maschine
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=335280 Summary: No DRI with Intel-945G on 64-Bit-Maschine Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: marcel@hilzinger.hu QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- I tested the Shuttle LinuXPC SD3002Q/W with Ubuntu and OpenSuse 10.2/10.3 On both systems there is 3D support with 32-Bit-System installation but on OpenSuse there is no 3D-Support (Direct rendering: No) if I install the 64-Bit version. So there seems to be a problem with X.org (intel driver) within Suse. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

(II) intel(0): direct rendering: Enabled
Looks good. Make sure the user, which wants to start any OpenGL application, needs to be in group video. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

1) libGL.so.1 => /usr/X11R6/lib64/libGL.so.1 (0x00002b31f04f2000) So you have the NVIDIA or fglrx driver installed? Please uninstall it and you're done. No, it doesn't make sens to install it on a machine with Intel onboard graphics.

Yes, fglrx was installed (strange). It was on the install disk and got installed automatically. This is true for 10.2 as well.
So the question remains: why does it get installed on 64-bit os and on 32-bit not?
This does not make any sense. The kmp packages for both archs only supplement ATI devices. Not a single one exist on your machine.
Shall I make a new bug report for this issue?
You can try. But since this is a YaST issue, and the ATI packages are not available on our official product, it will likely be closed as invalid. I can't help here much. :-( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
