Those fonts are ugly on all platforms, but it is possible to configure platform font set using fontconfig.properties files. I am attaching fontconfig.SuSE.properties from my system, configured to use DejaVu fonts. Hope it will help to close this issue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run any Swing-based application 2. Compare default KDE or GNOME fonts with Swing fonts. Actual Results: Fonts in Java application are ugly.
