Logs are unclear. Crashes happen randomly, often when animations are used or when switching between different views in impress (slide sorter, starting presentation, ...). Crashes can be fixed by using UXA instead of SNA acceleration. Performance issues: when using animations in a presentation and the presenter console is active (two screens), animations go terribly slow, with shocks. If you put the slides overview on the presenter console, animations act normally. Reverting to version xf86-video-intel 2.99.905 fixes all crashes and the buggy animations. Hardware: Intel Haswell with Intel HD 4000 graphics (Sony Vaio Pro). No other programs show these issues although I am aware of similar reports with e.g. Empathy (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=848748) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Work in Impress 2. Switch views, add animations to slides 3. I've also (although not confirmed) seem to run into this issue when using KRDC for RDP connections to Windows 7 machines, doing various stuff. When I scrolled a window in Chrome, the system would randomly become unresponsive, taking ~15 seconds to recover, with lots of hard drive activity while being unresponsive. Everything would then return to normal. No problem with Firefox though (other than it not handling Flash well). The patched driver appears to fix the issue with Chrome and X crashes with LibreOffice for me.
