[Bug 398321] New: kernel-default (and other) drag in perl dependency, making the perl package split useless
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=398321 Summary: kernel-default (and other) drag in perl dependency, making the perl package split useless Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: RC 1 Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: christoph@maxiom.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Package perl has been split in two packages, "perl" and "perl-base". However, one cannot remove "perl" package, because some of the most required packages still depend on package "perl". This makes the splitting useless. Note that on my system, perl-base is 4,0 megabytes, while perl is 35,9 megabytes large, justifying a removal. conflicts.txt from YaST2 when trying to deinstall "perl" on a already-quite-stripped system: [ ] perl behalten [ ] Folgende Aktionen werden ausgeführt: Deinstallation von SuSEfirewall2-3.6_SVNr195-9.noarch Deinstallation von mkinitrd-2.2-19.i586 Deinstallation von kernel-default-2.6.25.4-10.i586 Deinstallation von microcode_ctl-1.17-78.i586 Deinstallation von suspend-0.80.20080523-1.i586 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
