https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851883 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=851883#c0 Summary: ignore_nice_load setting is lost after suspend2ram Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rainer.kaluscha@uni-ulm.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 pm-suspend sets - for reasons unknown to me - temporarily a new governor (performance) before suspending to RAM and re-enables the old one after resume (/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/94cpufreq). However, it seems to fail in storing also the corresponding settings of the current governor so all non-default settings are lost :-( Especially, setting ignore_nice_load to 1 is reset every time pm-suspend is used. See also https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63081 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. echo 1 >/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/ondemand/ignore_nice_load 2. start some low priority background jobs - CPU clock stays low. 2. Do pm-suspend and resume 3. CPU is running at maximum speed although there is only low priority work although there is only low priority work -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
